History

Established in 1975.

The VFW Organization has been around for a long time. Google it. OUR post in Lake Dallas was around since 1975 and was originally located near the lake (Lake Lewisville) until it burned down. In 1978 the VFW was moved to Corinth, TX, but at the time, the city of Corinth didn’t like the bar aspect of the post, so the members decided to move the post back to Lake Dallas in 1978/79 to the front of the parking lot of the current location on 501 Thompson drive. That building had previously been a boat repair shop and was basically one big room. That was the Post until 1989, when the members decided to build the current building, and that’s what we have today. Frank Moore (former Commander) and his wife actually did the wiring in the new Building. Many different people have been commanders, with the most recent being Don Glockel, Don Hamilton, Dan Joseph, Frank Moore and now me. Our antique bar was donated by someone who brought it from San Francisco.

Meet the Commander Phil Marquez

I’m the Post Commander of our Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10460. As an Iraq Combat Veteran I’m proud to lead a team of fellow Veterans in the management of this post. All our profits go to Veterans Charities. Our drinks are inexpensive and our bartenders are friendly. Come check out our Post.
